First Establishment for Electricity The Five Mile house , both old and new one, hold many memories and can proudly boast about the many events held over the years. In 1937 an event happened that still has some of the members bragging. On October 1, 1937, at 4:20 p.m. the R.E.C. honored the original 5 Mile house by letting them be the first establishment in Crawford Cont to have their lights turned on. Now that was certainly a milestone in 5 Mile House history. almost all the officers of the Crawford Rural Electric Cooperative were members of the 5 mile House. |
